January TIPS

Often the worst month for weather.

If possible, clear the clutter from the garage and overnight store the vehicle undercover.

If your vehicle has to be outside, cover the  windscreen to avoid it freezing.

Allow extra time in the morning to prepare the vehicle for your journey.

We do not recommend letting your vehicle “warm up” before your journey.
It is not good for your engine, and is environmentally bad.

Use warm, not boiling water to thaw windows.

Be sure to de-ice your lights
as well as your windows.

Ensure you have sufficient windscreen wash and you have the correct percentage of additiveto reduce the risk of it freezing.

On slippery roads drive smoothly avoiding any sudden or jerky use of controls.

Increase your following distance by
10 (20 seconds).

Always be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear.

Ensure all windows are clear before moving off.
